On March 13, 2026, the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM) convened the 1st IP BRICS Coordination Group Meeting, chaired by India’s Focal Point, Ms. Suchetana Bhattacharyya.

The Member Offices reached a convergence of views on most agenda items, including the ICT-enabled FinTech Innovation symposium, the Digital Transformation Workshop, and updates to Operational Guidelines.

The meeting concluded with constructive follow-ups on event scheduling and new proposals for documenting Heads of Intellectual Property Offices participation and moderating ongoing projects, establishing a collaborative tone for the year ahead.
