Project Title: Classification on Traditional Knowledge

Focus on: Elaboration of a draft of scheme classification on traditional knowledge

Description: Conduction of a study of traditional knowledge (TK) with common understanding among the BRICS Offices, including a draft of scheme classification in this area to be proposed at WIPO for including in the International Patent Classification (IPC).

Expected Outcomes: First, the project aims to harmonize the understanding about TK among the BRICS Offices presenting the literature about this matter and a common definition about TK. Second, itlinks TK to the patent world. Last, it will draft a scheme classification in the area. To do so, we would have to identify technical points in common among the documents in order to create a draft classification scheme about TK.
